The shipyard of PLANACO S.A. is located on the beautiful island of Aegina just across Piraeus Port. The liaison from Athens - Piraeus Port with to the Aegina island is constant with hydrofoils, ferryboats and catamarans departing every hour winter like summer.
The charming town of Aegina, with its population of just over 6,000, is 3.5 km away and it is the principal port of the island. It is a thriving port where you can find the commercial area of the island as well as numerous seafood restaurants, pastry shops and bars.
The shipyard is 12 km from the magnificent temple of APHAIA, which was built by the ancient Greeks during the 5th century B.C. and is very well preserved. The Archaeological Museum in the town of Aegina, contains findings from the temple and reliefs, potters marble anchors from ancient ships from other parts of the island.
Perdika is known as the fishermen village 15 km away and, and there you could enjoy fresh fish. Paliahora is where 365 churches were built on ruined buildings accompanied by traces of medieval fortifications. Today only 28 survived.
Before leaving Aegina you should have a taste of the absolutely delicious PISTACHIOS nuts a local specialty known all over Greece, and by ceramics decorations from the locals.
